Here’s a suggested group tour…

  

                                       SUPER CALIFORNIA TOUR
                                             (9 DAYS, 8 NIGHTS) 

DAY 1 ARRIVE SAN FRANCISCO

Enjoy your transcontinental jet trip west to America’s favorite city.  While en route you’ll see most of the country including the plains, the mountains and the desert.  Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel near Union Square of the Wharf.  There’ll be leisure time in the evening to ride the cable cars and walk around Union Square or the Wharf. Overnight- San Francisco- Save money and have your group stay at one of our beautiful hotels in the Bay Area only 30 minutes away from the heart of San Francisco.

 

DAY 2 SAN FRANCISCO

After breakfast you will board our luxurious, air-conditioned, restroom equipped motorcoach and meet the other members of the group who will be traveling with us for the rest of the trip.  You will enjoy a leisurely city tour of San Francisco which will include Alcatraz Island, Twin Peaks, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, Golden Gate Park, The Cannery, The Cliff House, the Golden Gate Bridge and many other parts of the famous 49 mile drive. Overnight- San Francisco or the Bay Area.

 

DAY 3 MUIR WOODS AND WINE COUNTRY

After breakfast we’ll travel about one hour north of San Francisco to Sonoma, home of Sonoma Square and several wineries where we enjoy lunch in the barrel room of Sabastiani.   After leaving Sonoma we travel 30 minutes to the wine country of Napa Valley.  Here we visit  two major wineries.  Wine tasting (in the tasting room, of course) will follow. We return to San Francisco late in the afternoon via the Bay Bridge to view the sunset and partake in a group dinner in Chinatown, or dinner in the suburbs.  Overnight- San Francisco or in the Bay Area.

 

DAY 4 MONTEREY/CARMEL/THE CALIFORNIA COAST/SAN SIMEON

After checking out of our hotel we will travel about two hours to Monterey/Carmel where we will take the 17 mile drive with breathtaking scenic views.  En route to the 17 mile drive we will pass through Monterey’s Cannery Row and Fisherman’s Wharf. After lunch and shopping on Ocean Drive in Carmel we will begin our trip down the coast through Big Sur Country.  According to many people this is the most expansive meeting place of mountains, ocean and sky in the world!  You’ll enjoy the spectacular views of the cliffs and the Pacific. We will arrive in San Simeon about 5PM. Overnight- San Simeon or Cambria.

 

DAY 5 HEARST CASTLE/SOLVANG/ANAHEIM

We begin the day by taking Tour #1 of Hearst Castle.  This is the famous castle, which was built in the 20’s by William Randolph Hearst, 1600 feet above the sea.  Millions each year travel to see “The Enchanted Hill”. A special bus will take us to the top of the mountain where we will be given a one-hour tour of the castle.  After leaving San Simeon we continue down the coast for about two hours and stop for about one hour at the Danish community of Solvang for lunch and shopping.  We arrive in Anaheim about 6PM.  Overnight- Anaheim.

 

DAY 6 UNIVERSAL STUDIOS or THE GETTY/HOLLYWOOD/LOS ANGELES

Today we will travel to Universal Studios, where we will take the most famous tour in the world. We depart Universal at 2PM for a tour of Hollywood including the “Walk of Fame”, Mann’s Chinese Theatre, the La Brea Tar Pits, Farmer’s Market.  If you opt for "The Getty",  you will spend the morning at the new Getty Museum with its marble buildings and beautiful gardens perched high on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

 

DAY 7 SAN DIEGO

We will travel south for about 2 hours to the most famous zoo in the world…. the San Diego Zoo.   Here we will board a special bus for a complete tour of the zoo.  There will be extra time to stroll around the zoo and view the famous Koala Bears.   About 2PM we depart for as sort city tour of San Diego. About  4PM we depart for Anaheim arriving about 7PM.  Overnight-Anaheim.

 

DAY 8 PALM SPRINGS DAY TRIP -OR- DISNEYLAND (extra charge)

It's only two hours to Palm Springs for shopping and viewing the stars homes.  If you care not to do this then we offer Disneyland.  Enjoy Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and all the others at the most famous theme park in the world.  If you’re not tired by the end of the day, Knott’s Berry Farm is only ten minutes away and is usually open till 11PM.  Overnight- Anaheim.

 

DAY 9 DEPART FOR HOME

You will be transferred to Los Angeles International airport for your morning flight home.
