                   BUDAPEST – PRAGUE TOUR

                                         (9 DAYS, 7 NIGHTS)

  

DAY 1 FLY TO BUDAPEST

Today we depart on an overnight flight to Budapest, Hungary. 

DAY 2 BUDAPEST

On arrival we will take a two hour orientation tour with a visit to the Great Synagogue of Budapest.  After lunch, and check in to our hotel we will enjoy a one hour cruise down the Danube. The afternoon is free to enjoy the city.  Overnight-Budapest 

DAY 3 BUDAPEST

After breakfast we depart for a walking tour of Castle Hill.  Visits include Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion  and the Hungarian National Gallery in the Buda Castle Palace.  The walking tour continues down Castle Hill via the Vaci pedestrian lane.  After lunch a visit will be made to the famous Gallert Mineral water baths.  We return to our hotel and dinner in the evening.  Overnight –Budapest.  

DAY 4 BUDAPEST

Today is free time. Return to the baths or shop your heart out for Hungarian bargains.  In the evening an optional “Goulash” party tour is planned.  Overnight- Budapest. 

DAY 5 BUDAPEST TO PRAGUE

Today we will check out of our hotel and enjoy a beautiful train ride to Prague.  Our train will make
tops in Bratislava and Bruno, Slovokia before terminating in Prague.  En route we will pass through beautiful countryside of Hungary, Slovokia, and The Czech Republic.   On arrival at Prague we will transfer to our hotel.  Overnight- Prague 

DAY 6 PRAGUE

Today put on your walking shoes, because this is a walking city.Our first stop will be the Prague Castle and St. Vitus Church.  In the afternoon we will have free time to explore Wenselas Square for great shopping, Old Town Square and the nooks and crannies of the old city. One item not to be missed is a walk across the Charles Bridge.  Schedule permitting you might want to take in an opera or a chamber music recital this evening. Arrangement can be made. Overnight-Prague. 

DAY 7 PRAGUE

This morning we will visit the famous Jewish Quarter. A combination ticket will be issued to all tour participants for a complete tour of one of the most famous historic Jewish Quarters in Europe.  Here you will view and learn how the Jews of Prague lived for over 800 years.  Your tour will encompass six different synagogues and the famous Prague cemetery.  In the afternoon you will again enjoy free time to stroll the river and its bridges and in the early evening attend perhaps a musical recital in one of the churches or synagogues.  Overnight-Prague 

DAY 8 PRAGUE

Prague is a great shopping city.  We arrive at the main shopping district for a day of shopping.  Feel free to walk over to the Old City for last minute pictures.  We convene at 8PM (after attending optional recitals) for a farewell group dinner. 

DAY 9 FLY HOME

Today we fly westbound over the Atlantic to your home city. Note:  Vienna can be added to this itinerary by adding one additional day and giving up DAY 8 in Prague.  Please call our office for details. Rail routing becomes Budapest to Vienna and then Vienna to Prague.
